About Women-Eye
Women-Eye is designed for women about women to give them tools to empower themselves and learn how to really take care of themselves first then take care of others if they can.
Women-Eye’s mission is to help women all over the world to become whole Physically, Emotionally, Spiritually and Financially. Women-Eye is working to make this a better world for all women and their children.
Women-Eye provides poor women with the space and support necessary to take effective steps towards greater control of their lives in private and in society. The essence of Women-Eye is that it lays the foundation for self-reliance through building up an institution, which has the capacity to continue the development and empowerment processes for women in the future. Self-help promotion attempts to raise the choice level of the poor by building up an institutional framework that is in tune with their capacities of self-administration and better geared towards serving their needs. Until now this potential of the rural poor of helping themselves has been underestimated and therefore under explored. Efforts were not made to stimulate the capacity of the rural poor help themselves.

Finding out about WomenOnCall.org was a gift. I went to the website and signed up for help with Accounting and Grant Writing. Women-Eye became connected with Stephanie Vasconcellos through WomenOnCall.org. She made an appointment to meet with us and it was love at first sight to encounter Stephanie and to learn about how knowledgeable she was in the area of grant writing. She has since been working on putting together grants for the organization. Women-Eye is thankful for Stephanie and WomenOnCall.org for all of the work they do to help non-profits like ours. Volunteers are especially important during these difficult financial times.

About Stephanie Vasconcellos
Stephanie lives in Chicago with her husband Matt. She is an attorney with the health law practice group at Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP. Her work involves counseling heath insurers and other health care businesses on regulatory and transactional health law issues. She also advises non-profit organizations on corporate governance issues.
Women-Eye contacted Stephanie through the WomenOnCall.org website. Stephanie had indicated an interest in doing grant work, and had previously worked for a Detroit non-profit organization (the Infant Mortality Project) where she applied for grant monies for its programs. After accepting Women-Eye’s invitation, she identified a number of possible grants for which Women-Eye might qualify. She hopes to continue her relationship with Women-Eye by helping Women-Eye apply for one of those grants in 2009.
Stephanie appreciates the flexibility of volunteering through WomenOnCall.org, and is excited to have the opportunity to connect with various non-profit organizations. She looks forward to working with more organizations in the future!
