How You Can Help
WomenOnCall provides you with an easy, yet powerful way, to give back, add value and make a real difference for our nonprofit members. By sharing your expertise — and just 10 hours of your time — you make a valuable impact on short-term, specific projects for meaningful causes.
Our nonprofits range in size from small, community-based organizations to large, national nonprofits. Throughout the years, WomenOnCall has enabled numerous emerging nonprofit organizations, in particular, to grow and scale with the support of our volunteers.
By completing a profile on WomenOnCall, you can indicate your skills and interest. Using our Linkedin connect button, registration is even easier.
Nonprofits will have the opportunity to search for you based on the skill sets you have selected. For a full list of project possibilities, please click here. Simultaneously, our projects help our volunteers both hone their current skills and develop new skills by applying them in a nonprofit setting.
Here are a few ways our volunteers have made an impact:
- By reviewing and offering her writing expertise on the grant narratives Urban Initiatives drafted, WomenOnCall volunteer Jessica Rio helped the emerging organization secure key funding that enabled it to grow. Read more about her story here.
- When Options for Youth was looking for media attention to increase awareness of the small organization in the Chicago community, the organization recruited volunteer Angie Kolbusz through WomenOnCall to identify key marketing strategies for the nonprofit. Learn more about how Angie helped move the organization forward.
- Having worked in real estate development for nearly 20 years, WomenOnCall volunteer Sonya Hene worked alongside Street-Level Youth Media to help the organization find a new location for its center that met its budget and needs. Read about how Sonya provided key guidance to the nonprofit.
Our nonprofits are located throughout the country, and the largest number of our nonprofit members are currently in the Chicago area. Our members work on a variety of causes, including the following general focus areas.
